Today’s Unique Creation: Truffle Mac and Cheese

As the weather gets colder and cozy nights in become more frequent, I find myself craving comforting and indulgent dishes. That’s why I’m excited to share with you my latest creation: Truffle Mac and Cheese. This dish combines the classic comfort of mac and cheese with the luxurious flavor of truffle, creating a truly unforgettable experience for your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • macaroni pasta (250g)
  • butter (50g)
  • flour (50g)
  • milk (500ml)
  • gruyere cheese (150g)
  • cheddar cheese (150g)
  • truffle oil (2 tbsp)
  • salt
  • black pepper

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • whisk
  • grater
  • oven-safe baking dish

To start, preheat your oven to 180°C. Cook the macaroni pasta according to package instructions until al dente. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour until a smooth paste forms. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Let the mixture simmer and thicken for a few minutes.

Grate the gruyere and cheddar cheeses, and add them to the saucepan, stirring until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add in the truffle oil and stir until well combined. Mix in the cooked macaroni pasta until evenly coated in the cheese sauce.

Transfer the truffle mac and cheese into an oven-safe baking dish and sprinkle some extra grated cheese on top for a crispy finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

This Truffle Mac and Cheese weighs approximately 1000g once cooked and serves 4 people. Each serving is around 250g and contains approximately 600 calories. For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a drizzle of truffle oil on top before serving for an extra hit of truffle goodness.
