Decadent Twist: Chocolate Tiramisu Recipe

Deliciously Decadent Chocolate Tiramisu

As the weather starts to cool down and the holidays approach, I find myself craving comforting, indulgent desserts. Today, I’m excited to share with you my recipe for a unique twist on the classic Italian dessert, Tiramisu. This version combines rich chocolate flavors with the traditional creamy layers, creating a truly decadent treat that is perfect for any special occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 150g dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 250ml strong espresso, cooled
  • 200g ladyfingers
  • 500g mascarpone cheese
  • 250ml heavy cream
  • 100g sugar
  • for dusting

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • 8×8 inch baking dish

To start, melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water. Once melted, set aside to cool slightly. In a separate bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and a splash of espresso, mixing until smooth and creamy.

In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined. Dip each ladyfinger into the remaining espresso, making sure not to soak them too much.

Now, it’s time to assemble the tiramisu. Begin by layering half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of the baking dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture on top, followed by a layer of half of the melted chocolate. Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and chocolate.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible. Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder for an extra touch of elegance.

This Chocolate Tiramisu weighs approximately 1200g after cooking and serves 8. Each serving is about 150g and contains approximately 350 calories.

An unusual tip for this recipe is to add a sprinkle of sea salt to the layers of chocolate for a surprising savory contrast to the sweetness of the dessert.
