Today’s Unique Healthy Dessert: Strawberry Basil Sorbet

As the weather starts warming up, I find myself craving light and refreshing desserts that are both healthy and delicious. Today, I am excited to share my recipe for a unique twist on a classic sorbet — Strawberry Basil Sorbet.

To start, gather the following ingredients:

  • 500g fresh strawberries
  • 20g fresh basil leaves
  • 100ml honey
  • 30ml lemon juice

For this recipe, you will need the following kitchen tools:

  • blender
  • saucepan
  • fine mesh strainer

Start by washing and hulling the strawberries, then place them in a blender along with the fresh basil leaves. Blend until smooth, then pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a saucepan to remove any seeds or pulp.

Warm the strawberry basil puree over low heat, stirring in the honey and lemon juice until the honey is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature before transferring to a shallow dish.

Place the dish in the freezer and let the sorbet freeze for at least 4 hours, stirring every hour to break up any ice crystals that form.

Once the sorbet is fully frozen and set, scoop into serving bowls and garnish with a fresh basil leaf for a pop of color and flavor.
