Delightful Pear and Almond Crumble Recipe for Cozy Winter Nights

Delightful Pear and Almond Crumble Recipe for Cozy Winter Nights

August 28, 2025 Written by Olivia

Today, I’m excited to share a delightful dessert recipe that is perfect for cozy winter evenings or special celebrations. This dish combines the warm flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg with the sweetness of ripe pears and the crunch of toasted almonds. It’s a unique twist on a classic fruit crumble that will surely impress your guests.

To begin, gather the following ingredients: 4 medium ripe pears (about 600g), 100g of plain flour, 75g of rolled oats, 50g of brown sugar, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp of ground nutmeg, 75g of cold butter (cubed), and a handful of flaked almonds for topping.

For this recipe, you will need the following kitchen tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • peeler
  • knife
  • baking dish
  • oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C. Peel and slice the pears, removing the cores, then place them in a mixing bowl. Add the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the bowl. Use your fingertips to rub the cold butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Transfer the pear mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the flaked almonds on top for an extra crunch. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are tender.

Once the crumble is golden and bubbly, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. This dessert is best enjoyed warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

This delicious pear and almond crumble weighs approximately 900g once cooked. It serves 6 people, with each serving weighing around 150g. As a rough estimate, each serving contains about 300 calories.

For a unique twist on this classic dessert, try adding a handful of dried cranberries or raisins to the pear mixture before baking. The tartness of the dried fruit will complement the sweetness of the pears beautifully, adding an extra layer of flavor to the dish.

I hope you enjoy making and sharing this delectable pear and almond crumble with your loved ones. Feel free to get creative with the ingredients and make it your own. Happy baking!
