Exotic Roasted Purple Cauliflower Recipe

Exotic Roasted Purple Cauliflower Recipe

May 4, 2025 Written by Artem

Hey there foodies! Today, I’m excited to share a unique and tantalizing dish that was inspired by a recent trip to an exotic spice market. The aromas and vibrant colors of the spices lingered in my mind long after I left, so I decided to create a recipe that captured those flavors in a mesmerizing way.

Ingredients:

  • 1 small head of purple cauliflower (500g)
  • 10 juniper berries
  • 1 tsp of maple syrup powder
  • 2 tbsp of black sesames
  • 1 tbsp of hibiscus petals

Kitchen Tools:

  • mortar and pestle
  • baking sheet
  • oven

Preparation:

I start by preheating the oven to 375°F. While the oven is heating up, I carefully break apart the purple cauliflower into florets and pat them dry. In a mortar and pestle, I crush the juniper berries and mix them with the maple syrup powder. I then toss the cauliflower florets with this fragrant mixture and place them on a baking sheet.

Next, I sprinkle the black sesames and hibiscus petals over the cauliflower, making sure they are evenly distributed. I pop the baking sheet in the oven and roast the cauliflower for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are fork-tender and lightly browned.

Tips:

For an extra burst of flavor, I recommend drizzling a bit of balsamic reduction over the roasted cauliflower just before serving. The tangy sweetness of the balsamic pairs perfectly with the earthy and floral notes of the juniper, hibiscus, and maple syrup.

Serving:

Once the cauliflower is done roasting, I plate it up and garnish with a sprinkle of fresh black sesames for that final pop of color. This dish is great as a unique and eye-catching side dish for a dinner party or a special weekday meal.

– Total weight of the cooked dish: 650g
– Number of servings: 4
– Average weight of one serving: 162.5g
– Approximate calorie count per serving: 120 calories

I hope you give this exotic roasted purple cauliflower recipe a try and feel free to get creative with your own twist. Let me know how it turns out for you and happy cooking!
