Introducing: Spiced Apple Galette with Cardamom Cream

Today, I’m excited to share with you a delightful seasonal fusion dessert that perfectly captures the flavors of fall. This spiced apple galette with cardamom cream is a warm and comforting treat that will surely become a favorite at your table. The combination of sweet and tangy apples with aromatic spices and a creamy cardamom-infused topping creates a truly unique and delicious dish that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large apples, sliced
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 store-bought pie crust
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Kitchen Tools:

  • knife
  • cutting board
  • mixing bowl
  • rolling pin
  • baking sheet
  • whisk

To begin, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and lemon juice. Toss everything together until the apples are well coated with the sugar and spices.

Roll out the pie crust on a lightly floured surface to form a 12-inch circle. Transfer the pie crust to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Arrange the spiced apples in the center of the crust, leaving about a 2-inch border all around. Fold the edges of the crust over the apples, creating a rustic galette shape.

Bake the galette in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.

While the galette is baking, make the cardamom cream. In a separate mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add the ground cardamom and vanilla extract, and continue to whip until the cream is thick and fluffy.

Once the galette is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve slices of the galette with a dollop of the cardamom cream on top.

Approximate total weight of the cooked dish: 800g
Approximate number of servings: 6
Average weight of one serving: 133g
Approximate calorie count per serving: 250 calories

One clever tip for this recipe is to brush the edges of the galette crust with a beaten egg before baking. This will give the crust a beautiful golden sheen and added flavor.

I hope you give this spiced apple galette with cardamom cream a try and enjoy the warm, comforting flavors of fall. Feel free to experiment with different spices or fruits to make this dish your own!
