Introducing: Spiced Pear and Goat Cheese Tart

Today, I am excited to share with you a unique and delightful recipe for a Spiced Pear and Goat Cheese Tart. This dish is inspired by the flavors of fall, combining the sweetness of ripe pears with the tangy creaminess of goat cheese, all wrapped up in a flaky, buttery crust. It’s the perfect treat for a cozy evening at home or a special gathering with friends and family.

Ingredients:

  • 3 medium pears
  • 150g
  • 50g
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 50g
  • 200g
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 4 tbsp

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • rolling pin
  • 9-inch tart pan
  • pastry brush

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the cold, diced butter and use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add the ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and mix until the dough comes together. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit the tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim off any excess. In a bowl, mix the sliced pears with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Arrange the pear mixture over the dough and crumble the goat cheese on top.

Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are tender. Serve the tart warm or at room temperature.

The approximate total weight of the cooked tart is 750g, and it serves 8 people. Each serving weighs around 94g, with an estimated calorie count of 220 per serving.

One clever tip for this recipe is to brush the edges of the tart crust with a beaten egg before baking. This will give the crust a beautiful golden sheen and a crispy texture that pairs perfectly with the soft, creamy filling.

I hope you enjoy making this Spiced Pear and Goat Cheese Tart as much as I do. Feel free to experiment with different spices or additions to make this dish your own. Happy baking!
