Today’s Special: Spicy Pumpkin Chili

Hey there foodies! Today I’m excited to share with you a recipe that is perfect for cozy fall nights – my Spicy Pumpkin Chili. This dish combines the warmth and heartiness of traditional chili with a unique twist of pumpkin and a kick of spice that will have your taste buds dancing.

Ingredients:

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (400g) of canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 can (400g) of black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (400g) of diced tomatoes
  • 500ml beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Kitchen Tools:

  • large pot
  • wooden spoon
  • knife
  • cutting board

To start, brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. Once the beef is cooked through, add in the diced onion and red bell pepper, sautéing until the vegetables are softened. Next, stir in the canned pumpkin, black beans, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Season the chili with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Let the chili simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

The result is a thick and hearty chili with a subtle sweetness from the pumpkin and a spicy kick from the seasonings. The flavors balance perfectly, creating a truly unique and delicious dish.

This Spicy Pumpkin Chili weighs approximately 2500g once cooked and serves 6 hungry souls. Each serving is around 415g, and provides a comforting warmth of approximately 350 calories per portion.

A clever tip for this recipe is to let the chili cool and refrigerate it overnight before reheating and serving. This allows the flavors to intensify and meld together even more, making the dish even more delicious the next day.

I hope you give this Spicy Pumpkin Chili a try and enjoy it as much as I do! Feel free to customize it with your favorite toppings like sour cream, cheese, or avocado. Happy cooking!
