The Flavors of the Mediterranean: Lemon-Garlic Herb Crusted Salmon

Today I’m excited to share a recipe that brings back memories of my travels along the vibrant shores of the Mediterranean. The combination of fresh herbs, tangy lemon, and savory garlic evokes the essence of sunny days and alfresco dining by the sea. This Lemon-Garlic Herb Crusted Salmon is a delightful dish that perfectly balances bright flavors with the richness of perfectly cooked salmon.

Ingredients:

  • salmon fillets (4, 150g each)
  • fresh parsley (1/2 cup, chopped)
  • fresh dill (1/4 cup, chopped)
  • garlic cloves (4, minced)
  • lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
  • olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • salt (1 tsp)
  • black pepper (1/2 tsp)

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • chef’s knife
  • cutting board
  • zester

To start, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped parsley, dill, minced garlic, lemon zest, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Stir everything together until well mixed.

Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Divide the herb mixture evenly and spread it over the top of each fillet, pressing gently to adhere the crust. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Once cooked, remove the Lemon-Garlic Herb Crusted Salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together and the fish to finish cooking through.
