Fusion Dumplings with BBQ Pork Filling

Hello, foodies! Today, I’m excited to share a unique recipe that combines the flavors of traditional Chinese dumplings with a twist of BBQ pork. This dish is perfect for a cozy night in with loved ones or as a fun appetizer for a gathering. Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • wonton wrappers (200g)
  • ground pork (300g)
  • BBQ sauce (50g)
  • green onions, chopped (50g)
  • soy sauce (30ml)
  • sesame oil (10ml)
  • garlic, minced (2 cloves)
  • ginger, minced (1 tsp)
  • cornstarch (15g)
  • water (30ml)

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • frying pan
  • spoon
  • pot

To start, mix the ground pork, BBQ sauce, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl. In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and cook the pork mixture until browned and cooked through. Add the cornstarch slurry to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Next, place a spoonful of the pork mixture onto a wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and seal the dumpling. Continue until all the filling is used. Boil a pot of water and cook the dumplings until they float to the surface, then remove and drain.

One clever tip for this recipe is to pan-fry the dumplings for a crispy texture before boiling them. This will add an extra layer of flavor to your dish.

The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 700g, with around 30 servings. Each serving weighs approximately 23g, with an estimated calorie count of 50 calories per dumpling. I encourage you to get creative with your fillings and make this dish your own. Enjoy!
