Today, I’m excited to share a unique and delightful dessert that perfectly combines the freshness of summer blackberries with the subtle herbaceous notes of basil. This Blackberry Basil Panna Cotta is a refreshing treat that will surely impress your guests at any gathering.

Ingredients:

  • fresh blackberries (200g)
  • fresh basil leaves (10g)
  • heavy cream (300ml)
  • sugar (100g)
  • gelatin leaves (6 pieces)

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • whisk
  • blender
  • ramekins

To start, place the blackberries, basil leaves, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes until the blackberries soften and release their juices. Remove the saucepan from heat and allow it to cool slightly.

In a separate bowl, soak the gelatin leaves in cold water for 5 minutes until they soften. Once softened, squeeze out any excess water from the gelatin leaves and add them to the blackberry mixture. Stir until the gelatin completely dissolves.

Next, using a blender, puree the blackberry mixture until smooth. In a clean saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and whisk in the blackberry puree until well combined.

Divide the mixture into ramekins and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or until set.

Serving:

Once the panna cotta is set, garnish with fresh blackberries and basil leaves before serving.
