Decadent Desserts: Lavender Honey Panna Cotta

Today, I’m sharing a recipe for a delicate and fragrant dessert that is perfect for indulging in a moment of relaxation. This Lavender Honey Panna Cotta is a luxurious treat that combines floral notes with the sweetness of honey, creating a symphony of flavors that will transport you to a peaceful garden.

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 450ml heavy cream
  • 150ml whole milk
  • 100g sugar
  • 2 tbsp dried lavender
  • 2 1/2 tsp gelatin
  • 90g honey

Be sure to have the following kitchen tools on hand:

  • saucepan
  • whisk
  • fine mesh strainer
  • ramekins
  • refrigerator

To begin, pour the heavy cream and milk into a saucepan over medium heat. Add the sugar and dried lavender, stirring gently to combine. Allow the mixture to heat until it just begins to simmer, then remove from the heat and let it steep for 20 minutes.

While the cream mixture is steeping, place the gelatin in a small bowl and cover it with cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom. After the cream has steeped, strain it through a fine mesh strainer to remove the lavender.

Return the cream mixture to the saucepan and place it back on the stove over low heat. Add the bloomed gelatin and honey, stirring until everything is well incorporated and the gelatin has dissolved completely.

Divide the mixture among the ramekins and place them in the refrigerator to set for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.

Once the Lavender Honey Panna Cotta has set, gently run a knife around the edge of each ramekin to loosen the dessert. Place a plate on top of the ramekin, then invert it to release the panna cotta.

The approximate total weight of the cooked dish is 800g, with 4 servings at 200g each. Each serving is approximately 350 calories.

For a unique twist, try garnishing the panna cotta with a drizzle of lavender-infused honey or a sprinkle of edible flower petals before serving. Enjoy this elegant dessert as a delightful end to a special meal, or simply savor it as a standalone treat.

I hope you give this Lavender Honey Panna Cotta a try and enjoy the delicate flavors it has to offer. Feel free to experiment with different infusions and toppings to make it your own special creation. Happy cooking!
