Decadent Desserts: Chocolate Earl Grey Mousse

Today, I’m excited to share a luxurious dessert that combines the rich flavors of dark chocolate with the aromatic notes of Earl Grey tea. This Chocolate Earl Grey Mousse is the perfect treat for any special occasion or a cozy night in.

Ingredients:

  • 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 3 earl grey tea bags
  • 300ml whipping cream
  • 50g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • fine mesh strainer
  • ramekins

Start by melting the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water. Once melted, remove from heat and set aside. In another saucepan, bring the whipping cream to a gentle simmer. Add the earl grey tea bags and steep for 10 minutes to infuse the cream with the tea’s flavor.

Remove the tea bags from the cream and reheat the cream until just simmering. Slowly pour the hot cream over the melted chocolate, whisking continuously until smooth and well combined. Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, and sea salt until fully incorporated.

Pass the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any tea leaves or lumps, then divide the mousse into ramekins. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.

Once the mousse has set, serve and enjoy the decadent combination of velvety chocolate and fragrant Earl Grey tea.

This Chocolate Earl Grey Mousse weighs approximately 600g once cooked, with 4 servings at around 150g each. Each serving is estimated to be around 400 calories.

A unique tip for this dessert is to sprinkle some finely grated orange zest on top just before serving to add a refreshing citrus twist to the rich mousse.
