Today’s Exotic Dessert: Mango Saffron Panna Cotta

As the weather starts to warm up, I find myself craving light and refreshing desserts. That’s why I’m excited to share my recipe for Mango Saffron Panna Cotta today. This delightful treat combines the sweetness of ripe mangoes with the elegant flavor of saffron for a truly exotic dessert experience.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe mangoes (400g)
  • 1/2 tsp saffron threads
  • 10g gelatin powder
  • 400ml coconut milk
  • 100g sugar
  • 100ml water

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • blender
  • ramekins

To begin, peel and chop the mangoes, then puree them in a blender until smooth. Next, heat the coconut milk in a saucepan over low heat. Add the saffron threads and let them infuse the milk for a few minutes.

In a separate bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the water and let it bloom. Once bloomed, add the sugar to the coconut milk and saffron mixture, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove the milk from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.

Divide the mango puree among the ramekins, then carefully pour the coconut milk mixture over the puree. Place the ramekins in the refrigerator and let the panna cotta set for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

When ready to serve, gently run a knife around the edge of each ramekin and dip the bottom in hot water for a few seconds. Turn the ramekin upside down onto a plate to unmold the panna cotta. The silky smooth texture and vibrant flavors will make this dessert a showstopper!

This Mango Saffron Panna Cotta recipe yields approximately 6 servings, with each serving weighing around 150g. One serving contains approximately 250 calories.

For a unique twist, try garnishing the panna cotta with toasted coconut flakes or a sprinkle of ground cardamom before serving. The added flavors and textures will take this dessert to the next level!

I hope you enjoy making and savoring this Mango Saffron Panna Cotta as much as I do. Feel free to experiment with different fruits or spices to make it your own. Happy cooking!
