Sweet Potato Tiramisu

Today, I’m excited to share a unique twist on a classic Italian dessert that’s perfect for the fall season. This Sweet Potato Tiramisu recipe combines the rich flavors of sweet potatoes with the creamy goodness of traditional tiramisu. It’s a delightful treat that will surely impress your friends and family!

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes (400g)
  • 250g mascarpone cheese
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 100g sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 pack of ladyfingers
  • 2 tbsp rum

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • vegetable peeler
  • baking dish

To start, preheat your oven to 200°C. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into chunks, then boil them until they are soft. Drain and mash the sweet potatoes until smooth, then set them aside to cool.

In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy. Add the cooled mashed sweet potatoes to the mixture and stir until well combined.

In a separate shallow dish, mix the coffee and rum together. Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a baking dish.

Add a layer of the sweet potato mascarpone mixture on top of the ladyfingers. Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top.

Sprinkle the cocoa powder generously over the top layer, then cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld together.

Once chilled and set, slice the Sweet Potato Tiramisu into portions and serve cold. Enjoy the unique blend of flavors in this delightful dessert!
