Frozen Banana Chocolate Chip Bars

Today, I’m excited to share a delicious and healthy dessert recipe that’s perfect for hot summer days. These frozen banana chocolate chip bars are a refreshing treat that combines the natural sweetness of ripe bananas with the rich flavor of dark chocolate. Whether you’re looking for a guilt-free dessert or a cool snack to enjoy, this recipe is sure to hit the spot.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium ripe bananas (about 400g)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (about 80g)
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk (about 60ml)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (about 30g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Kitchen Tools:

  • blender
  • 8×8 inch baking dish
  • mixing bowl
  • spatula

To make these frozen banana chocolate chip bars, start by peeling the bananas and cutting them into chunks. Place the banana chunks in a blender along with the coconut milk, honey, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy.

Next, pour the banana mixture into a mixing bowl and stir in the dark chocolate chips. Make sure the chocolate chips are evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Pour the mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish lined with parchment paper.

Place the baking dish in the freezer and let the mixture freeze for at least 4 hours, or until it is set. Once the bars are frozen, remove them from the freezer and let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly. Cut the bars into squares and serve immediately.

These frozen banana chocolate chip bars weigh approximately 600g in total and make about 6 servings. Each serving is around 100g and contains approximately 150 calories.

One clever tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a little sea salt on top of the bars before serving. The salt adds a pop of flavor that balances the sweetness of the bananas and chocolate perfectly.

I hope you enjoy making and eating these frozen banana chocolate chip bars! Feel free to get creative with the recipe by adding nuts, dried fruit, or a drizzle of nut butter. Let me know how it turns out for you!
