Gourmet Comfort Food: Truffle Mac and Cheese

Today, I’m excited to share with you a luxurious twist on a classic comfort food favorite – Truffle Mac and Cheese. This dish is perfect for cozy nights in or to impress your dinner guests with its rich, decadent flavors. The earthy aroma of truffles combined with creamy cheese sauce will take your taste buds on a journey you won’t soon forget.

Ingredients:

  • 200g macaroni pasta
  • 15ml truffle oil
  • 5g white truffle salt
  • 150g Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 50g Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 250ml heavy cream
  • 50g butter

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • whisk
  • baking dish

To start, preheat your oven to 180°C. In a large saucepan, cook the macaroni pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. In the same saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, whisk in the heavy cream until well combined, then add in the grated Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses, stirring constantly until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.

Next, add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring until the pasta is fully coated. Drizzle in the truffle oil and sprinkle in the white truffle salt, giving the dish a gentle stir to incorporate the truffle flavors throughout. Transfer the truffle mac and cheese mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Sprinkle additional Gruyere and Parmesan cheese on top of the macaroni mixture for an extra cheesy finish. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly on top.

Once the truffle mac and cheese is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. The creamy, cheesy goodness combined with the aromatic truffle flavors will have everyone coming back for seconds!

The approximate total weight of the cooked dish is 700g, with 4 servings. Each serving weighs around 175g, with an approximate calorie count of 450 per serving.

One unique tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a handful of crispy fried shallots on top of the mac and cheese before serving. The added crunchiness and savory flavor will take this dish to the next level!

I hope you enjoy this gourmet truffle mac and cheese recipe. Feel free to get creative and add your own twist by incorporating different cheeses or herbs. Bon appétit!
