I was inspired to create this Spicy Chocolate Avocado Mousse after reminiscing about the flavors of my favorite Mexican hot chocolate. The creamy texture of avocado pairs perfectly with the rich chocolate and a kick of heat from chili powder. It’s a surprising combination that will surely impress your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 100g cocoa powder
  • 50g honey
  • 2g chili powder
  • 5ml vanilla extract
  • 2g sea salt
  • 1g cayenne pepper
  • 100ml coconut milk

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • measuring cups

Start by halving and pitting the avocados, then scooping out the flesh into a food processor. Add the cocoa powder, honey, chili powder, vanilla extract, sea salt, cayenne pepper, and coconut milk. Blend everything until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the food processor as needed.

Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and give it a final stir to ensure everything is well combined. Divide the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.

When ready to serve, garnish the mousse with a sprinkle of chili powder for an extra kick. This Spicy Chocolate Avocado Mousse weighs approximately 600g once prepared and serves 4 people. Each serving is around 150g, with an estimated calorie count of 250 per portion.
