As the holiday season approaches, I find myself craving warm and comforting drinks to cozy up with on chilly nights. Today, I’m excited to share with you a unique twist on a classic chai latte — the Maple-Pecan Chai Latte. This delicious beverage combines the rich flavors of maple and pecan with the bold spices of chai for a truly indulgent experience.

Ingredients:

  • 2 black tea bags
  • 500ml water
  • 250ml milk
  • 50ml maple syrup
  • 50g pecans, chopped
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • for topping

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • strainer
  • mug
  • whisk

To begin, heat the water in a saucepan until it reaches a gentle boil. Add the black tea bags, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and cardamom pods to the water. Reduce the heat and let the tea steep for 5 minutes to infuse all the spices.

While the tea is steeping, toast the chopped pecans in a dry skillet until they become fragrant and slightly browned. Set aside for later use.

Once the tea has finished steeping, remove the tea bags and spices using a strainer. Stir in the milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and half of the toasted pecans. Heat the mixture over low heat until warmed through, being careful not to let it boil.

Pour the Maple-Pecan Chai Latte into mugs and top with a dollop of whipped cream and the remaining toasted pecans for garnish. Serve hot and enjoy the cozy flavors of maple, pecan, and chai coming together in a delightful winter beverage.
