Today’s Culinary Creation: Lavender Infused Peach Cobbler

Lately, with the arrival of summer, I’ve been craving the sweet taste of ripe peaches combined with a hint of floral lavender. Today, I’m excited to share my unique recipe for Lavender Infused Peach Cobbler. This dish is perfect for a sunny weekend brunch or a cozy evening dessert.

For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 4 large peaches, sliced
  • 150g all-purpose flour
  • 100g sugar
  • 100g cold butter, cubed
  • 100ml whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • a pinch of salt

Prepare your kitchen tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • saucepan
  • oven
  • baking dish

Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a saucepan, combine the milk and dried lavender over low heat. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to infuse the milk with the floral flavor of the lavender. Strain out the lavender and set the infused milk aside to cool slightly.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the cubed butter and use your fingers to rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Slowly pour in the infused milk while stirring to form a soft dough.

Place the sliced peaches in a baking dish and sprinkle with a bit of sugar. Spoon the lavender-infused dough over the peaches, covering them evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the cobbler crust is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.

Once the Lavender Infused Peach Cobbler is fresh out of the oven, let it cool slightly before serving. The warm, fragrant aroma of lavender combined with the juicy sweetness of ripe peaches creates a delightful sensory experience with every bite.

The total weight of the cooked Lavender Infused Peach Cobbler is approximately 800g, with 6 servings. Each serving weighs around 133g, and you can expect each serving to be around 250 calories.

One clever tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a little extra dried lavender on top of the cobbler before baking for an extra burst of floral flavor and a touch of visual appeal.

I encourage you to try this unique twist on a classic peach cobbler and feel free to experiment with different fruits or herbs to make it your own. Enjoy this delectable dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the perfect summer treat.
