Today’s Special: Spicy Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Greetings, foodies! Today, I’m excited to share a unique and indulgent dessert recipe that combines unexpected flavors for a truly unforgettable treat. As we dive into the world of spicy chocolate avocado mousse, get ready to tantalize your taste buds with a creamy and velvety texture like no other.

I start by gathering the following ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados (peeled and pitted)
  • 60g cocoa powder
  • 120ml maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120ml coconut milk
  • 50g chili-infused dark chocolate (chopped)

Next, I gather my kitchen tools:

  • food processor
  • spatula
  • mixing bowl
  • saucepan
  • whisk

To prepare this decadent dessert, begin by scooping the flesh of the ripe avocados into the food processor. Add in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and vanilla extract. Blend everything together until smooth and creamy. In a saucepan, heat the coconut milk until steaming but not boiling. Slowly pour the hot coconut milk over the chopped chili-infused dark chocolate in a mixing bowl. Whisk until the chocolate is melted and incorporated into the mixture.

Combine the chocolate mixture with the avocado mixture in the food processor and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust the sweetness or spiciness level as desired. Transfer the mousse into individual serving glasses and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.

Once chilled, serve the spicy chocolate avocado mousse garnished with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper and a dollop of whipped coconut cream for an extra decadent touch.

The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 600g, and this recipe makes 4 servings. Each serving weighs around 150g, with an approximate calorie count of 250 per serving.

An unusual tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a bit of sea salt on top of the mousse just before serving. The salt enhances the chocolate flavor and adds a delightful contrast to the heat of the cayenne pepper.

I hope you enjoy this adventurous dessert as much as I do! Feel free to experiment with different levels of spiciness or toppings to make this recipe your own. Happy cooking!
