Unconventional Dessert: Spicy Maple Bacon Cupcakes

Today, I’m excited to share a unique dessert recipe that combines sweet, spicy, and savory flavors in one delicious treat — Spicy Maple Bacon Cupcakes. This unexpected combination of ingredients will surely surprise and delight your taste buds!

Ingredients:

  • Bacon (150g)
  • All-purpose flour (200g)
  • Granulated sugar (150g)
  • Baking powder (10g)
  • Salt (5g)
  • Cayenne pepper (3g)
  • Ground cinnamon (5g)
  • Eggs (2)
  • Maple syrup (120ml)
  • Unsalted butter, melted (120g)
  • Milk (120ml)
  • Vanilla extract (5ml)

Kitchen Tools:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Muffin tin
  • Frying pan
  • Oven

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners. In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan, let it cool, and then chop it into small pieces.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chopped bacon.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, you can enjoy these Spicy Maple Bacon Cupcakes on their own or top them with a sweet maple frosting for an extra indulgent treat.

This recipe makes approximately 12 cupcakes. The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 1800g. Each serving weighs around 150g, with an estimated calorie count of 300 per cupcake.

One unusual tip for this recipe is to brush the tops of the cupcakes with a little extra maple syrup after baking for added sweetness and shine.

I encourage you to give these Spicy Maple Bacon Cupcakes a try and make them your own by adjusting the spice level or experimenting with different toppings. Enjoy the unique flavor combination and happy baking!
