Today’s Unique Creation: Red Velvet Pancake Stack

Greetings, food enthusiasts! Today, I’m excited to share a special recipe that combines the indulgent richness of red velvet cake with the comforting warmth of fluffy pancakes. This unique dish is perfect for a cozy weekend brunch or as a delightful dessert after dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 150g all-purpose flour
  • 20g cocoa powder
  • 10g baking powder
  • 30g sugar
  • 2g salt
  • 200ml buttermilk
  • 5ml vanilla extract
  • 15ml red food coloring
  • 1 egg
  • 20g butter, melted
  • 100g cream cheese
  • 50g powdered sugar
  • to taste maple syrup

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • spatula
  • griddle
  • mixer

To start, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, vanilla extract, red food coloring, egg, and melted butter. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.

Heat a griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.

While the pancakes are cooking, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Stack the pancakes on a plate, spreading a layer of the cream cheese mixture between each one. Finish off the stack with a generous drizzle of maple syrup.

This Red Velvet Pancake Stack weighs approximately 750g once cooked, serves 4 people, with each serving weighing around 187.5g. An estimate of 350 calories can be expected per serving.

One clever tip for this dish is to let the batter rest for about 10 minutes before cooking the pancakes. This allows the flavors to meld together, resulting in a richer taste.

I encourage you to give this unique Red Velvet Pancake Stack a try and make it your own by adding your favorite toppings or extra layers of cream cheese. Enjoy!
