Irresistible Delight: Passionfruit & Basil Mousse for a Dec

Decadent Desserts: Passionfruit and Basil Mousse

Today, I’m excited to share a unique and refreshing dessert recipe that combines the exotic flavors of passionfruit with the earthy freshness of basil. This mousse is a perfect treat for a hot summer day or a light and elegant way to end a fancy dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 150g passionfruit pulp
  • 20g fresh basil leaves
  • 100g white chocolate, chopped
  • 300ml heavy cream
  • 50g sugar

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • hand mixer
  • saucepan
  • whisk

To start, place the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, making sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water. Stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Add sugar and continue to whip until well combined.

In a blender, combine the passionfruit pulp and basil leaves. Blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove any solids.

Gently fold the melted white chocolate into the whipped cream until fully incorporated. Then, fold in the passionfruit and basil mixture until well combined.

Divide the mousse into serving glasses or bowls. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.
