Irresistible Roasted Chickpeas: Crunchy & Healthy Snack

Healthy Crunchy Chickpeas Snack Recipe

Today, I’m excited to share with you a recipe for a healthy and crunchy snack that is perfect for satisfying those mid-afternoon cravings. This recipe for roasted chickpeas is not only flavorful and satisfying but also packed with protein and fiber, making it a guilt-free option for when you need a little snack to get you through the day.

Ingredients:

  • canned chickpeas (400g)
  • olive oil (15ml)
  • smoked paprika (5g)
  • garlic powder (3g)
  • sea salt (2g)
  • black pepper (2g)

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • colander
  • oven

Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas in a colander, then pat them dry with a kitchen towel. In a mixing bowl, toss the chickpeas with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

Spread the seasoned chickpeas out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the oven for 30-40 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until the chickpeas are crisp and golden brown. Keep an eye on them towards the end to prevent burning.

Once the chickpeas are done roasting, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy the crunchy goodness of these roasted chickpeas as a snack on their own, or sprinkle them over salads for an added crunch.

This recipe yields approximately 300g of roasted chickpeas, with about 6 servings. Each serving is around 50g, and provides roughly 180 calories. One unique tip for this recipe is to add a sprinkle of nutritional yeast before roasting for a cheesy flavor.
