Today’s Special: Spicy Maple Glazed Salmon

As the weather starts to cool down, I find myself craving warm, comforting meals that pack a punch of flavor. That’s why I’m excited to share with you my latest creation: Spicy Maple Glazed Salmon. This dish combines the sweetness of maple syrup with a hint of spiciness, creating a perfect balance of flavors that will leave your taste buds dancing.

Ingredients:

  • salmon fillets (400g)
  • maple syrup (80ml)
  • sriracha sauce (15ml)
  • soy sauce (30ml)
  • garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • ginger (1-inch piece, grated)
  • green onions (2, chopped)
  • sesame seeds (for garnish)

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons

To begin, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk until the marinade is well mixed.

Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and brush them generously with the maple glaze. Reserve some of the glaze for basting later. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

While the salmon is baking, heat the remaining glaze in a saucepan over medium heat. Let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly. This will be used as a delicious sauce to drizzle over the cooked salmon.

Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven and brush it with the reserved glaze. Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top for an extra burst of flavor and texture.

This Spicy Maple Glazed Salmon is best served hot, straight from the oven. The sweet and spicy flavors marry perfectly with the tender, flaky fish. Each bite is a delightful explosion of taste that will keep you coming back for more.

Approximate total weight of cooked dish: 500g
Number of servings: 2
Average weight of one serving: 250g
Approximate calorie count per serving: 350 calories

Tip:

To enhance the flavors of the dish even further, try marinating the salmon in the maple glaze for 30 minutes before baking. This will allow the flavors to penetrate the fish, resulting in an even more delicious bite.

I hope you give this Spicy Maple Glazed Salmon a try and enjoy it as much as I do. Feel free to adjust the level of spice to suit your taste or add your own twist to make it truly unique. Happy cooking!
