Spiced Forest Fruit Tart

Today, I’m excited to share a recipe inspired by the changing seasons and my love for creating unique desserts. This Spiced Forest Fruit Tart is a delightful combination of warm spices and tangy fruits that will surely impress your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • puff pastry (200g)
  • mixed forest fruits (150g)
  • sugar (50g)
  • cinnamon (1 tsp)
  • nutmeg (1/2 tsp)
  • vanilla extract (1 tsp)
  • lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
  • cornstarch (1 tbsp)
  • egg (1, beaten)

Kitchen Tools:

  • rolling pin
  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • pastry brush

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and preparing a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangular shape on a lightly floured surface using a rolling pin. Transfer the pastry to the lined baking sheet.

In a mixing bowl, combine the mixed forest fruits, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and cornstarch. Mix well until the fruits are coated evenly with the spices and sugar mixture. Spoon the fruit mixture onto the center of the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges.

Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the fruit, creating a rustic tart shape. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the fruits are bubbling.

Once baked, remove the Spiced Forest Fruit Tart from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. This tart is best enjoyed warm, either on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This recipe makes approximately 4 servings, with each serving weighing around 150g. One serving of this Spiced Forest Fruit Tart is estimated to have around 250 calories.

An unusual tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the fruit mixture before folding the pastry. The salt will enhance the flavors of the fruits and spices, adding a delicious depth to the tart.

I encourage you to give this Spiced Forest Fruit Tart a try and make it your own by experimenting with different fruits and spices. Enjoy creating and indulging in this exotic dessert!
