Today’s Special: Spicy Chocolate Chili

As the weather starts to cool down and the leaves begin to change colors, I find myself craving hearty and warming dishes to cozy up with. That’s why today, I’m excited to share with you my unique recipe for Spicy Chocolate Chili. This dish is a fusion of classic chili flavors with a surprising twist of rich dark chocolate, creating a depth of flavor that will leave your taste buds wanting more.

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 500g ground beef
  • 400g canned kidney beans
  • 800g canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

To bring this Spicy Chocolate Chili to life, you will need the following kitchen tools:

  • large pot
  • wooden spoon
  • knife
  • cutting board

Start by browning the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. Once the beef is cooked through, add in the diced onion and red bell pepper, sautéing until they are softened. Next, stir in the canned diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Allow the chili to simmer for about 20 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

As the chili simmers, add in the dark chocolate, stirring until it is fully melted and incorporated into the dish. The chocolate will add a rich and velvety texture, as well as a hint of sweetness that balances out the heat from the spices.

Once the Spicy Chocolate Chili is ready, serve it hot in bowls garnished with a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and a few slices of fresh jalapeños for an extra kick.

The total weight of the cooked Spicy Chocolate Chili is approximately 1800g, with 6 servings. Each serving weighs around 300g and has an estimated calorie count of 350 calories.

A clever tip for this recipe is to let the chili rest overnight in the refrigerator before reheating and serving. This allows the flavors to deepen and intensify, making it even more delicious the next day.

I hope you enjoy making this Spicy Chocolate Chili as much as I do. Feel free to experiment with the recipe and adjust the spice levels to suit your taste preferences. Happy cooking!
