Savory Mushroom Gnocchi Skillet

Today, I’m excited to share a delightfully unique recipe perfect for a cozy evening in or a small gathering of friends. I was inspired by the changing seasons and the desire to create something unexpected and delicious – and thus, my Mushroom Gnocchi Skillet was born.

Ingredients:

  • potato gnocchi (300g)
  • mixed mushrooms, sliced (200g)
  • smoked gouda cheese, grated (100g)
  • heavy cream (100ml)
  • fresh thyme leaves (1 tbsp)
  • garlic cloves, minced (2 cloves)
  • olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

To start, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Toss in the sliced mixed mushrooms and cook until they are golden brown and tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Next, add the potato gnocchi to the skillet, stirring gently to combine with the mushrooms. Let them cook for a few minutes until they start to slightly brown and become crispy on the outside.

Pour in the heavy cream, grated smoked gouda cheese, and fresh thyme leaves. Stir everything together until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy.

Serving:

Once your Mushroom Gnocchi Skillet is ready, spoon it into bowls and sprinkle with some extra thyme leaves for a pop of color and freshness. This dish is best enjoyed hot, right out of the skillet.

Tips:

For an extra savory kick, try adding a sprinkle of crispy bacon or pancetta on top before serving. The salty crunch will take this dish to the next level.
