Preparation

Ingredients:

  • green tea leaves (2 tbsp)
  • honey (1/4 cup)
  • black sesame seeds (1 tbsp)
  • goji berries (1/4 cup)
  • coconut milk (400 ml)
  • tapioca pearls (100 g)

Kitchen Tools:

  • strainer
  • wooden spoon

I start by brewing a strong cup of green tea and letting it cool to room temperature. In a saucepan, I combine the brewed tea with coconut milk, honey, and tapioca pearls, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. I stir continuously with a wooden spoon to prevent the pearls from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Once the pearls are translucent and cooked through, I remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Next, I strain the mixture to remove any solid bits and pour it into individual serving bowls. I top each bowl with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds and a handful of goji berries for a pop of color and added texture.

For an extra layer of flavor, try infusing the coconut milk with a vanilla bean or a cinnamon stick before adding it to the tapioca pearls. This will give the dish a warm, comforting aroma that pairs beautifully with the earthy green tea and nutty black sesame seeds.
