Blackberry Basil Lemon Sorbet

Today, I am sharing a refreshing and unique dessert recipe perfect for those hot summer days. This blackberry basil lemon sorbet is a delightful combination of sweet and tangy flavors that will leave you feeling satisfied and refreshed.

Ingredients:

  • 300g fresh blackberries
  • 20g fresh basil leaves
  • 100ml lemon juice
  • 150g sugar
  • 200ml water

Kitchen Tools:

  • blender
  • saucepan
  • fine mesh strainer
  • ice cream maker

To start, combine the water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, then remove from heat and let it cool.

Once the sugar syrup is cool, add the blackberries, basil leaves, and lemon juice to a blender. Blend until smooth, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any seeds or pulp.

Combine the strained mixture with the sugar syrup and mix well. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until you have a smooth sorbet consistency.

Transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours to firm up before serving.

The approximate total weight of the cooked dish is 670g, with 6 servings at approximately 110g each. Each serving is approximately 150 calories.

A clever tip for this recipe is to add a splash of vodka to the mixture before churning in the ice cream maker. This will help keep the sorbet from freezing too hard and give it a smoother texture.
