Spaghetti Sushi: The Perfect Fusion of Italy and Japan!

Spaghetti Sushi: The Perfect Fusion of Italy and Japan!

June 18, 2025 Written by Scarlett

Today, I’m excited to share a unique fusion recipe that combines the flavors of Italy and Japan — Spaghetti Sushi! This dish is perfect for when you’re craving both pasta and sushi but can’t decide which one to have. It’s a fun and creative twist on two classic dishes that will surely impress your family and friends.

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
– 200g cooked spaghetti
– 150g sushi-grade raw tuna, sliced
– 1 avocado, thinly sliced
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon sesame oil
– 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
– 1 teaspoon wasabi
– 1 nori sheet, cut into thin strips
– Sesame seeds, for garnish

And here are the kitchen tools you’ll need:

  • pot
  • strainer
  • bowl
  • knife
  • cutting board

Start by cooking the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and rinse it with cold water to cool it down. In a bowl, mix the spaghetti with soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar until well combined.

Next, lay out a sheet of plastic wrap on a flat surface. Place a layer of the seasoned spaghetti on the plastic wrap, leaving a border of about 1 inch all around. Top the spaghetti with slices of raw tuna and avocado. Drizzle a bit of wasabi on top for an extra kick.

Using the plastic wrap, carefully roll up the spaghetti, tuna, and avocado into a tight log, like you would with sushi. Wrap the log tightly in the plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Once chilled, unwrap the spaghetti sushi roll and slice it into individual pieces. Place the slices on a serving plate and garnish with nori strips and sesame seeds.

The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 600g. This recipe makes about 4 servings, with each serving weighing around 150g. Each serving is approximately 350 calories.

A clever tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a bit of furikake (Japanese rice seasoning) on top of the spaghetti before rolling it up for an extra burst of flavor.

I hope you give this Spaghetti Sushi recipe a try and enjoy the delicious combination of flavors! Feel free to customize it with your favorite sushi fillings and make it your own. Happy cooking!
