Today’s Creation: Spiced Pear Dumplings

Hello, foodies! Today, I’m excited to share a unique recipe that combines the comforting flavors of fall with a twist. These Spiced Pear Dumplings are perfect for a cozy night in or a special dessert for a gathering. I love experimenting with different flavor combinations, and this recipe is one of my favorites to date.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium ripe pears (peeled and cored)
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 100ml milk

Kitchen Tools:

  • peeler
  • knife
  • mixing bowl
  • baking dish
  • saucepan
  • pastry brush

To start, preheat your oven to 180°C. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add in the cubed butter and mix with your fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Slowly pour in the milk and knead until a dough forms.

Next, divide the dough into four equal portions. Roll out each portion into a flat circle. Place a peeled and cored pear in the center of each circle and carefully wrap the dough around it, sealing it at the top. Place the dumplings in a lightly greased baking dish.

In a small saucepan, combine some water, brown sugar, and a dash of cinnamon. Heat the mixture until the sugar has dissolved, then pour it over the dumplings in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the pears are tender.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm, drizzled with any remaining sauce from the baking dish. These Spiced Pear Dumplings are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Approximate total weight of cooked dish: 800g
Number of servings: 4
Average weight of one serving: 200g
Approximate calorie count per serving: 320 calories

One tip to make these Spiced Pear Dumplings even more delicious is to sprinkle some chopped nuts on top before baking for added crunch and flavor.

I hope you give this recipe a try and enjoy it as much as I do! Feel free to get creative and make it your own by experimenting with different spices or adding a drizzle of caramel sauce. Happy cooking!
