Today’s Dish: Spicy Honey Garlic Shrimp Stir-Fry

Greetings, fellow food enthusiasts! Today, I’m excited to share a recipe that combines the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors — Spicy Honey Garlic Shrimp Stir-Fry. This dish is a go-to for me whenever I’m in the mood for a quick and satisfying meal that doesn’t compromise on taste.

For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 400g shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 200g broccoli florets
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1-inch piece of ginger (grated)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 tbsp water
  • Cooked rice for serving

Prepare your kitchen tools:

  • wok
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • garlic press
  • grater
  • measuring spoons

Start by heating a tablespoon of oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Toss in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and opaque, then remove them from the wok and set them aside.

Next, add another tablespoon of oil to the wok and stir-fry the broccoli and bell pepper until they are tender-crisp. In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sriracha, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water to make the sauce. Pour the sauce into the wok and bring to a simmer until it thickens.

Return the cooked shrimp to the wok, tossing everything together to ensure that the shrimp is well coated in the flavorful sauce. Serve the Spicy Honey Garlic Shrimp Stir-Fry over a bed of steamed rice and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions for an extra pop of flavor.

This delectable dish weighs approximately 800g once cooked and serves 4 people, with each serving weighing around 200g. An estimated calorie count for each serving is around 300 calories.

One unique tip for this recipe is to marinate the shrimp in a mixture of soy sauce, honey, and a sprinkle of chili flakes for 30 minutes before cooking. This will infuse the shrimp with even more flavor and make them extra tasty.

I encourage you to give this Spicy Honey Garlic Shrimp Stir-Fry a try and make it your own by adding your favorite vegetables or adjusting the level of spice to suit your taste buds. Enjoy!
