Today, I’m excited to share a unique dish that always brings me back to my childhood backyard picnics. This recipe for Spicy Mango Shrimp Tacos is a perfect combination of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors that will leave your taste buds dancing with delight.

Ingredients

  • 500g large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 ripe mango (diced)
  • 1 small red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 jalapeno (finely chopped)
  • 1 lime (juiced)
  • 1/4 cup cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Preparation

Start by heating olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced mango, red onion, jalapeno, lime juice, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and salt to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes until the mango is soft and fragrant.

While the mango mixture is cooking, season the shrimp with a pinch of salt. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.

Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side. Fill each tortilla with the spicy mango shrimp mixture.

Serving

Serve the Spicy Mango Shrimp Tacos hot, garnished with extra cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

Tips

For an extra burst of flavor, try grilling the mango before adding it to the skillet. The caramelized sweetness will take this dish to a whole new level.
