Winter Recipe: Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Hey there, foodies! Today I’m excited to share with you one of my favorite winter recipes that never fails to warm me up on a cold evening. This dish is a delightful mix of sweet and savory flavors that will have you coming back for more. Perfect for a cozy night in or a festive gathering, these caramelized Brussels sprouts with bacon are sure to be a hit!

Ingredients:

  • 500g Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 200g bacon, chopped
  • 50ml maple syrup
  • 30ml balsamic vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking sheet
  • skillet
  • oven
  • mixing bowl

To start, preheat your oven to 200°C. Place the halved Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet and drizzle them with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast them in the oven for about 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.

In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon until it’s nice and crispy. Once the bacon is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, add the maple syrup and balsamic vinegar. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.

Now, add the roasted Brussels sprouts and cooked bacon to the skillet with the maple syrup and balsamic mixture. Toss everything together until the Brussels sprouts are well coated.

Serve the caramelized Brussels sprouts with bacon hot and enjoy the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors in every bite.
