Ingredients:

  • 250g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Cooked rice, for serving

  • measuring spoons

To start, heat the vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Next, toss in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes.

Push the shrimp to one side of the wok and add the sliced bell pepper and chopped onion. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.

In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sriracha, and sesame oil. Pour this sauce over the shrimp and vegetables, stirring well to coat everything evenly. Let the mixture simmer for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Once everything is cooked through and the sauce is glossy, it’s time to serve! Spoon the spicy honey glazed shrimp stir-fry over a bed of cooked rice and garnish with some fresh cilantro or sliced green onions for an extra pop of flavor.
