Spiced Pumpkin Mousse

Today, I’m excited to share a new seasonal dessert that’s perfect for the fall holidays or any cozy gathering. This spiced pumpkin mousse is a light and fluffy treat that combines the warmth of cinnamon and nutmeg with the creamy richness of pumpkin. It’s a delightful twist on a classic pumpkin pie, and I can’t wait for you to try it!

Ingredients:

  • 425g canned pumpkin puree
  • 240ml coconut cream
  • 80g maple syrup
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp agar agar powder
  • 120ml water

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • saucepan
  • blender
  • ramekins

I start by combining the pumpkin puree, coconut cream, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. I whisk everything together until it’s smooth and well mixed.

In a saucepan, I combine the agar agar powder with water and bring it to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once the mixture thickens slightly, I remove it from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Next, I pour the agar agar mixture into the pumpkin mixture and blend everything together until it’s completely smooth. This will help the mousse set properly.

I divide the mixture into individual ramekins and refrigerate them for at least 2 hours, or until set.

Once the mousse has chilled and set, I garnish each serving with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a dollop of coconut whipped cream. The result is a light and airy pumpkin mousse that’s bursting with warm spices and creamy goodness.

One unique tip for this recipe is to chill your mixing bowl and whisk in the freezer for a few minutes before whipping the coconut cream. This will help the coconut cream whip up faster and achieve a light and fluffy texture.

I encourage you to give this spiced pumpkin mousse a try and make it your own by experimenting with different spices or toppings. Enjoy this delightful seasonal treat with friends and family!
