Introducing: Autumn Apple Pie with a Twist

As the leaves start to change color and the air gets cooler, I find myself craving warm, comforting desserts to enjoy with a cup of tea. Today, I’m excited to share with you a unique twist on a classic autumn favorite: my Autumn Apple Pie with a Twist recipe. This dish combines the traditional flavors of apple pie with a surprising ingredient that takes it to the next level.

For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 5 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce

To prepare this dish, you’ll need the following kitchen tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • rolling pin
  • pie dish
  • knife
  • pastry brush

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and greasing your pie dish. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and flour. Mix everything together until the apples are evenly coated. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie dish and dot the top with cubed butter.

Next, roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface until it’s large enough to cover the pie dish. Place the puff pastry over the apple mixture and tuck in the edges. Use a knife to make a few small slits in the pastry to allow steam to escape while baking.

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool slightly. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the pie before serving.

This Autumn Apple Pie with a Twist recipe serves 8 and each serving weighs approximately 200g. One serving is estimated to have around 350 calories.

A clever tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a bit of sea salt over the top of the pie before drizzling with caramel sauce. The hint of salt enhances the sweetness of the caramel and gives the pie an extra depth of flavor.

I hope you give this unique twist on apple pie a try and make it your own. Enjoy this delicious dessert with friends and family during the autumn season!
