Today’s Comfort Food Creation

As the weather starts to cool down and the leaves begin to change color, I find myself craving warm, comforting dishes that remind me of cozy nights spent with loved ones. That’s why I’m excited to share with you my latest creation: Cheesy Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf Stuffed with Mac and Cheese. This indulgent dish combines classic comfort foods in a surprising and delicious way that will have your taste buds singing.

Ingredients:

  • 500g ground beef (80% lean)
  • 10 bacon strips
  • 200g macaroni
  • 200g cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 100g breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 250ml milk
  • 50g butter
  • to taste

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • baking dish
  • skillet
  • pot
  • oven

To start, preheat your oven to 180°C.

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the macaroni according to package instructions. In a separate skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then set aside to cool. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until softened.

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, sautéed onion and garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Once the macaroni is cooked, drain it and return it to the pot. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, butter, and milk, stirring until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy.

Take the bacon strips and lay them out side by side, slightly overlapping. Place the meatloaf mixture on top of the bacon, then spread the mac and cheese mixture on top of the meatloaf. Carefully roll everything up into a loaf shape, ensuring the bacon wraps around the entire meatloaf.

Transfer the meatloaf to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the meatloaf is cooked through.

Serving:

This Cheesy Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf Stuffed with Mac and Cheese serves approximately 6 people. Each serving weighs around 300g and has approximately 500 calories.

One unique tip for this dish is to brush the outside of the bacon with a mixture of maple syrup and mustard before baking. This will add a delicious sweet and tangy flavor to the dish that complements the savory meatloaf and cheesy mac and cheese perfectly.

I hope you enjoy creating and indulging in this decadent comfort food creation. Feel free to make it your own by adding your favorite seasonings or swapping out the cheeses for a different flavor profile. Happy cooking!
