Banana Bread Pudding with Salted Caramel Sauce

Today, I’m excited to share my twist on a classic dessert that’s perfect for any cozy fall evening. Banana bread pudding with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce is a deliciously comforting treat that’s sure to warm your heart and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 300g day-old bread, cubed
  • 4 eggs
  • 500ml milk
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 50g butter, melted
  • 100ml heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a baking dish. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, cubed bread, eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt, and melted butter. Mix until well combined, then pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Bake the banana bread pudding for 35-40 minutes, or until golden and set. While the pudding is baking, prepare the salted caramel sauce by heating the heavy cream, brown sugar, and sea salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved and the sauce has thickened.

Once the banana bread pudding is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, drizzled with the salted caramel sauce. The combination of the sweet, moist pudding and the salty-sweet caramel sauce is simply divine.

This recipe makes approximately 6 servings. Each serving weighs around 250g and contains approximately 350 calories.

One unusual tip for this recipe is to add a sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts on top of the pudding before baking for an extra crunch and nutty flavor.
