Hello foodies! Today, I am excited to share a unique and flavorful recipe that is perfect for a cozy night in or a special occasion. This dish combines unexpected ingredients to create a delicious and comforting meal that will surely impress your taste buds.

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

– 250g boneless duck breast
– 1 fennel bulb, thinly sliced
– 1 apple, diced
– 50g pistachios, chopped
– 2 tbsp honey
– 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
– Salt and pepper to taste

For this recipe, you will need the following kitchen tools:

  • chef’s knife
  • cutting board
  • oven
  • skillet

To begin, preheat your oven to 180°C. Score the skin of the duck breast and season with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the duck breast skin-side down until crispy, about 5 minutes. Flip the duck breast and sear the other side for another 3 minutes. Transfer the duck breast to a baking dish and roast in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until cooked to your liking.

In the same skillet, add the sliced fennel and diced apple. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add the chopped pistachios, honey, and balsamic vinegar. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

Once the duck breast is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly. Serve the duck slices on a bed of the fennel and apple mixture. Drizzle with the leftover sauce from the skillet.

This dish serves 2 people and each serving is approximately 400g. One serving of this delicious duck with fennel and apple has an estimated calorie count of 450 calories.
