I was feeling adventurous in the kitchen and decided to experiment with some unexpected flavors, resulting in this Spicy Miso Carbonara. Trust me, this fusion dish is like nothing you’ve ever tasted before!

Ingredients:

  • spaghetti (200g)
  • bacon strips (150g)
  • eggs (2)
  • Parmesan cheese (50g)
  • miso paste (20g)
  • chili flakes (5g)
  • garlic cloves, minced (2)
  • olive oil (30ml)
  • black pepper

I start by cooking the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. In a skillet, I fry the bacon until crispy, then remove it from the pan and chop it into small pieces.

Next, I whisk together the eggs, Parmesan cheese, miso paste, chili flakes, and black pepper in a bowl. In the same skillet with the bacon grease, I sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, then add in the cooked spaghetti and toss to coat.

To bring it all together, I pour the miso-egg mixture over the spaghetti and toss continuously over low heat until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles evenly. I add in the crispy bacon pieces and drizzle with a bit of olive oil for extra richness.
