Today’s Special: Matcha Green Tea Tiramisu

Hey there, foodies! Today, I’m excited to share with you a unique twist on a classic Italian dessert — Matcha Green Tea Tiramisu. I love experimenting with different flavors and textures, and this fusion dish perfectly blends the rich, creamy taste of traditional tiramisu with the earthy notes of matcha green tea. Whether you’re a matcha enthusiast or just looking to try something new, this dessert is sure to impress your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 250g mascarpone cheese
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
  • 100g sugar
  • 200g ladyfinger biscuits
  • 1 cup espresso
  • 50g dark chocolate, grated

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • sifter
  • square baking dish

To start, combine mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, matcha green tea powder, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Using a whisk, beat the mixture until smooth and creamy. In a separate shallow dish, pour the espresso and quickly dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the coffee, making sure not to soak them for too long.

In the square baking dish, layer the soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread a generous layer of the matcha mascarpone mixture on top. Repeat this process, creating alternating layers of soaked ladyfingers and matcha mascarpone until you reach the top of the dish. Finish off with a sprinkling of grated dark chocolate on the final layer.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together and the tiramisu to set. Once chilled, slice into squares and serve chilled. Each bite offers a perfect balance of sweetness from the mascarpone and bitterness from the matcha, creating a truly unique and delicious experience.

One clever tip for this recipe is to sift the matcha green tea powder before adding it to the mascarpone mixture. This ensures a smooth texture without any clumps of powder, enhancing the overall consistency of the tiramisu.

I hope you enjoy trying out this Matcha Green Tea Tiramisu recipe and feel free to customize it to your liking. Get creative with different toppings or serve it with a dollop of whipped cream on the side. Happy cooking!
