Today’s Fusion Creation: Sushi Pizza Delight

Greetings, foodies! Today I am excited to share with you a quirky and delightful dish that combines two of my favorite cuisines: sushi and pizza. This recipe is perfect for a fun dinner party, a casual night in, or just when you feel like trying something new and exciting in the kitchen.

Ingredients:

  • 500g sushi rice (cooked)
  • 4 seaweed sheets
  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 200g smoked salmon
  • 150g cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Kitchen Tools:

  • rice cooker
  • rolling pin
  • sharp knife

Start by spreading the cooked sushi rice evenly on a round baking tray to form a base for your sushi pizza. Press the rice down gently to ensure it holds together. Place the seaweed sheets on top of the rice, cutting any excess if needed.

Next, spread a generous amount of cream cheese over the seaweed sheets, followed by slices of avocado, cucumber, and smoked salmon. In a small bowl, mix the sriracha and mayonnaise to create a spicy mayo drizzle, then drizzle it over the toppings on the sushi pizza.

Once your toppings are in place, sprinkle black sesame seeds over the pizza for an added crunch and flavor. Pop the sushi pizza in the oven at 180°C for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges of the seaweed start to crisp up.

While the sushi pizza is baking, prepare a simple soy sauce dipping sauce by mixing soy sauce with a dash of sesame oil and chopped spring onions.

Once the sushi pizza is ready, take it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice it into wedges like a traditional pizza and serve hot with the soy sauce dipping sauce on the side.

This unique sushi pizza creation weighs approximately 1200g and serves 4 people. Each serving is around 300g, and has an estimated calorie count of 450 per serving.

One clever tip for this dish is to sprinkle a bit of furikake (Japanese seasoning) on top of the sushi pizza before serving for an extra burst of flavor and color.

I hope you enjoy this fusion recipe as much as I do! Feel free to get creative with your toppings and make this sushi pizza your own. Bon appétit!
