As the weather starts to cool down and autumn is in full swing, I can’t help but crave warm and comforting dishes. Today, I’m excited to share my recipe for a hearty pumpkin chili that is perfect for cozy nights in or for gathering with friends and family. The combination of savory flavors with a hint of sweetness from the pumpkin creates a unique and delicious dish that is sure to become a fall favorite.

Ingredients:

  • ground beef (500g)
  • onion (1, diced)
  • bell pepper (1, chopped)
  • canned pumpkin puree (400g)
  • black beans, drained and rinsed (400g)
  • diced tomatoes (400g)
  • beef broth (500ml)
  • chili powder (2 tbsp)
  • cumin (1 tbsp)
  • salt and pepper to taste

  • cutting board

To make this pumpkin chili, start by browning the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. Add in the diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until the vegetables are softened. Next, stir in the canned pumpkin puree, black beans, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Season with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, stirring well to combine.

Simmer the chili over low heat for about 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. The aroma of the spices and pumpkin will fill your kitchen, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Once the chili has thickened slightly and the flavors have developed, it is ready to be served. Ladle it into bowls and garnish with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped cilantro.
