As the summer begins to wind down and the colors of fall start to appear, I find myself craving dishes that combine the fresh flavors of the season with a hint of warmth and comfort. Today, I’m excited to share with you my latest creation: Cranberry Basil Spaghetti. This unique pasta dish brings together the tartness of cranberries with the aromatic sweetness of basil, creating a delightful and unexpected burst of flavors.

To make this dish, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 250g spaghetti
  • 150g fresh cranberries
  • 50g fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 30ml olive oil
  • 15ml balsamic vinegar
  • to taste
  • to taste

Before you begin, make sure you have the following kitchen tools on hand:

  • pot
  • skillet
  • strainer
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • grater

Start by bringing a pot of water to a boil and cooking the spaghetti according to the package instructions. While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

Next, add the fresh cranberries to the skillet and cook until they start to soften and burst. Use a wooden spoon to gently press down on the cranberries to release their juices. Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the skillet and let the flavors meld together.

Once the spaghetti is al dente, drain it and add it to the skillet with the cranberry mixture. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated in the flavorful sauce. Chiffonade the fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them over the pasta.

To finish, grate some Parmesan cheese over the top for an added richness and depth of flavor. Serve the Cranberry Basil Spaghetti hot and enjoy the unique combination of tangy cranberries, aromatic basil, and savory Parmesan cheese.
